Ingredients:
-
4 tbsp unsalted butter
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1/2 onion, finely chopped (optional)
-
1 lb (450g) cremini or button mushrooms
-
2 tbsp dry white wine (optional)
-
1 tsp fresh thyme leaves, chopped
-
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
Salt and pepper to taste
Step 1
Melt the butter and olive oil together in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3 minutes until softened.
Step 2
Add the mushrooms to the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges.
Step 3
Pour in the white wine, if using, and let it simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly. Add the thyme, 1 tablespoon of parsley, and the minced garlic. Stir well and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 4
Season the mushrooms with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and sprinkle with the remaining parsley.
Step 5
Serve the garlic butter mushrooms warm as a side dish or over a piece of toast for a delicious snack
